YOUR QUESTIONS

When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

It is advised to book your newborn session shortly after your 20 week scan to ensure availability. If you are way past your 20th week and are about to have your baby or have already given birth then I will do my absolute best to fit you in. Your newborn photo session will be booked for when your baby is 5-21 days old. At this stage, babies sleep deeper and longer and their bodies are still very flexible from being curled up in the womb so posing is a lot easier to achieve.

What to expect on the day

When you arrive at the studio, the first thing I will ask you to do is to strip baby down to their nappy and give your precious little one a feed to get them relaxed and sleepy. The studio will be set up and ready for you with your chosen colours and props, and once your baby is nice and relaxed I will first have a cuddle (I do treasure a newborn snuggle), then get on with the posing and photo taking.

It is a good idea to bring your baby wearing something that is easy to remove as complicated poppers and buttons can irritate a baby making it harder to settle back down again.

What happens next

After your photo shoot we will schedule your viewing session where you will have the pleasure of watching a beautiful slideshow of your baby, then you can sit comfortably while choosing your images and products. Viewing sessions are best done without your baby present to avoid distractions, however, I understand it is not always easy to find childcare so, of course, it is no problem at all if they need to be with you during the viewing.
